If you find yourself near the bustling Lyon Part-Dieu train station and are in dire need of a caffeine fix that surpasses the ordinary, look no further than Rakwé Café. Nestled at 5 Pl. Charles Béraudier, this charming coffee shop stands out not only for its exquisite brews but also for its dedication to quality, showcasing beans sourced from a local Lyon roaster.

Rakwé Café is not just another stop for coffee; it is an experience tailored for those who respect the art of brewing. Customers rave about the rich, flavorful options that are far removed from the bland offerings of well-known chains. As Caroline Conner aptly puts it, Rakwé’s coffee "pours quality leagues above every other burned" alternative, making every sip worth the investment. This sentiment echoes throughout the café, where the aromatic blend of freshly ground beans envelops you as you step inside, promising a delight for all your senses.

With praises flowing in from patrons, Michel confidently claims it to be "the best coffee" he’s had across all of France—bold words that perfectly encapsulate the café’s enthusiastic clientele. Each cup is crafted with care, and reviews from customers reflect an unwavering commitment to excellence, like that of customer Suibee Teoh who enjoyed not only the coffee but also the warm, friendly service—perfect for a quick stop before catching a train.

Speaking of exceptional service, the team at Rakwé Café consistently delivers, providing quick yet attentive service that makes you feel valued whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor. Jacopo Orsilli describes it beautifully; the moment he walked in, he was greeted with a mesmerizing scent that immediately hinted at the high-quality experience he was about to enjoy. Imagine starting your day with a drink that not only stimulates your taste buds but also brings joy to your heart. This is the Rakwé Café promise.

Indulge in their extensive menu that features a variety of options, including expertly crafted lattes and the ever-tempting mocaccino, which has garnered rave reviews for being "really better than other coffees around." A visit here is the ultimate treat for coffee aficionados and casual drinkers alike—it's a local gem that should not be missed.

In short, Rakwé Café is more than a coffee shop—it’s a haven for those who appreciate quality and a refreshing departure from the monotonous coffee culture often found in train stations. Don’t settle for ordinary; stop by Rakwé Café for an unforgettable taste of Lyon's finest coffee experience.

The criticisms in here are missing the point. Yes it’s expensive, because this is a local Lyon roaster who’s pouring quality leagues above every other burned, press-one-button ashtray coffee served at the chains in the rest of the station. I doubt it’s cheap to be able to operate in the station when you’re competing with Starbucks and Paul, and I’ll gladly give them my money for a good latte any day so I don’t have to drink that other garbage. I love Rakwe and I’m so happy they’re here! It makes dealing with this stressful train station so much better. Thanks Rakwe!

Best coffee I‘ve had in all of France. Worth every penny. Period. Ignore the comments of those who bought their coffee at Paul or Pret and wont‘t even realize they‘re reviewing the wrong place.

Finally a good coffee in France! The scent was already good when they were preparing the coffee, and the aste was even better! I was nearly crying for joy. Bravo!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this little gem! Finding decent coffee in France can be quite the challenge, so I didn’t have high expectations. I did hesitate at first because ~5.50€ for a flat white is undeniably steep—borderline laughable, even. But if you can look past the price, the coffee is genuinely delicious. It’s miles better than anything you’d get from the likes of Paul, Pret A Manger, or Starbucks nearby. So, if the premium price doesn’t deter you, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!
